Hello, from Steve Garten and welcome to my weird and wonderful world of moths.

I’m amateur Lepidopterist, I trap and record moth species on my six acre wildlife meadow at Tibenham Norfolk, UK.

The list of moths listed in this Micro-moths blog and the Macro Moths blog are the species I have recorded since 2015.

Yellow-faced Bell - Epiblema cynosbatella.

Yellow-faced Bell - Epiblema cynosbatella. A micro moth species from the family of Tortricidae, subfamily Olethreutinae. The moth has a wingspan of 14 to 22 mm. The yellow labial palps of this moth readily distinguish it from several quite similar species. The species' habitat is mostly gardens and hedgerows. This moth is on the wing from May to July, but can easily be disturbed during the day. The species’ life history shows that the larvae feed mainly on a variety of wild and cultivated roses. This moth is widespread throughout most of Britain. This species is classified as common in the UK.
