Yellow Oak Button or Yellow Oak Tortrix - Aleimma loeflingiana. A micro moth species from the family of Tortricidae, subfamily Tortricinae. The moth has a wingspan of 14 to 19 mm. The darker markings on the forewings can be somewhat variable but are usually diagnostic of the species. The species' habitat is mostly a woodland species but can be found in any area containing Oak This moth is on the wing from July and August from dusk into the night. The species’ life history shows that the larvae feed mainly on Oak. This moth is widespread throughout most of Britain. This species is classified as common in the UK.
