Hello, from Steve Garten and welcome to my weird and wonderful world of moths.

I’m amateur Lepidopterist, I trap and record moth species on my six acre wildlife meadow at Tibenham Norfolk, UK.

The list of moths listed in this Micro-moths blog and the Macro Moths blog are the species I have recorded since 2015.

White-shouldered House-moth - Endrosis sarcitrella

White-shouldered House-moth - Endrosis sarcitrella A micro moth species from the family of Pterophoridae , subfamily Pterophorinae. The moth has a wingspan of 15 to 21 mm. A distinctive moth because of its white 'shoulders'. The species' habitat is regularly found inside buildings. It has many broods from March to November; it can be found indoors and will breed at any time of year. The species’ life history is the larvae live on dried plant and animal debris. The species has been accidentally introduced into many parts of the world with dried, stored goods. It is common throughout the UK and has an almost worldwide distribution.
