Hello, from Steve Garten and welcome to my weird and wonderful world of moths.

I’m amateur Lepidopterist, I trap and record moth species on my six acre wildlife meadow at Tibenham Norfolk, UK.

The list of moths listed in this Micro-moths blog and the Macro Moths blog are the species I have recorded since 2015.

White-bodied Conch - Cochylis hybridella

White-bodied Conch - Cochylis hybridella A micro moth species from the family of Tortricidae , subfamily Tortricinae. The moth has a wingspan of 12 to 15 mm. This species has a whitish thorax when fresh, which can be used to separate it from similar Cochylis species. The species' habitat is usually found in chalky districts. This moth is on the wing in July and August; the moths fly from dusk onwards. The species’ life history is that the larvae feed within the seedheads of oxtongue or hawk's beard. It occurs mainly in southern England, north of Cheshire and Wales. This species is classified as common in the UK.
