Hello, from Steve Garten and welcome to my weird and wonderful world of moths.

I’m amateur Lepidopterist, I trap and record moth species on my six acre wildlife meadow at Tibenham Norfolk, UK.

The list of moths listed in this Micro-moths blog and the Macro Moths blog are the species I have recorded since 2015.

Thistle Ermine - Myelois circumvoluta

Thistle Ermine - Myelois circumvoluta A micro moth species from the family of Pyralidae, subfamily Phycitinae. The moth has a wingspan of about 22 to 24mm. This is a distinctive moth, somewhat reminiscent of a larger version of the Yponomeutidae family. This species’ habitat is where its food plant grows. This moth is on the wing from June to July and can be attracted to light. As its name suggests, the species’ life history is the larval foodplants, which are various types of thistles. The species is Fairly widespread, and it is classified as common.
