Hello, from Steve Garten and welcome to my weird and wonderful world of moths.

I’m amateur Lepidopterist, I trap and record moth species on my six acre wildlife meadow at Tibenham Norfolk, UK.

The list of moths listed in this Micro-moths blog and the Macro Moths blog are the species I have recorded since 2015.

Straw Grass-veneer or Straw Grass-moth - Agriphila straminella.

Straw Grass-veneer or Straw Grass-moth - Agriphila straminella. A micro moth species from the family of Crambidae, subfamily Crambinae. The moth has a wingspan of about 16 o 19 mm. A pale and rather plain-looking 'grass moth'. This species’ habitat is any grassy area almost anywhere. This moth is on the wing from July and August The species’ life history is that the larvae feed internally on the lower part of the stems of its food plants which are various grasses, especially Sheep's-fescue. The species is found in good numbers throughout the whole of the UK and is classified as common in the UK. https://www.thegrangecl.co.uk/newsite/
