Hello, from Steve Garten and welcome to my weird and wonderful world of moths.

I’m amateur Lepidopterist, I trap and record moth species on my six acre wildlife meadow at Tibenham Norfolk, UK.

The list of moths listed in this Micro-moths blog and the Macro Moths blog are the species I have recorded since 2015.

Rhomboid Tortrix – Acleris rhomana.

Rhomboid Tortrix – Acleris rhomana. A micro moth species from the family of Tortricidae , subfamily Tortricinae . The moth has a wingspan of 13 to 19 mm. With the slightly hooked tips and reticulated pattern of the forewings, this species is relatively easy to identify, despite being somewhat variable. Its preferred habitat can often be found around hedgerows and gardens. The moth is on the wing from August to October and is nocturnal. The species’ life history is that the larvae food plants include a range of trees and shrubs, including Hawthorn. Quite widespread throughout Britain. The species is classified as common in the UK.
