Marbled Cosmet- Mompha propinquella. A micro moth species from the family of Momphidae. The moth has a wingspan of 12 mm. In common with most of the Momphidae, the adults of this species are brightly coloured, with raised scale tufts. This moth is on the wing in June and August and comes to light. Its habitat is It prefers dry locations. The species’ life history is Larval feeds on various willowherbs and the species spends the winter as a larva. It occurs in suitable habitats throughout most of Britain. The species is classified as local in the UK.
