Hello, from Steve Garten and welcome to my weird and wonderful world of moths.

I’m amateur Lepidopterist, I trap and record moth species on my six acre wildlife meadow at Tibenham Norfolk, UK.

The list of moths listed in this Micro-moths blog and the Macro Moths blog are the species I have recorded since 2015.

Knapweed Conch - Agapeta zoegana.

Knapweed Conch - Agapeta zoegana. A micro moth species from the family of Tortricidae , subfamily Tortricinaee. The moth has a wingspan of 15 to 25 mm. The usual form is yellow with russet wing markings similar to A. hamana. The form ferrugana has orange-brown ground colour instead of the normal yellow. Both have distinctive brown rings at wing-tip. This moth can be found on the wing from May to August. Its habitat is Its main foodplant Common Knapweed. The species’ life history is it flies from dusk into the night and is attracted to light. This distinctive species is distributed over much of Britain but is scarcer in northern parts and classified as common in the UK.
