Hello, from Steve Garten and welcome to my weird and wonderful world of moths.

I’m amateur Lepidopterist, I trap and record moth species on my six acre wildlife meadow at Tibenham Norfolk, UK.

The list of moths listed in this Micro-moths blog and the Macro Moths blog are the species I have recorded since 2015.

House Neb - Bryotropha domestica.

House Neb - Bryotropha domestica. A micro moth species from the family of Gelechiidae , subfamily Anomologinae . The moth has a wingspan of 12 to 13 mm. The pale buff wings are marked with dark brown blotches. This moth can be found on the wing from May to late August. The adult moths fly in a single generation and are readily attracted to light. Its habitats are around mossy walls. The species’ life history is that the larvae feed on mosses growing on walls in a silken gallery. Pupation occurs within this gallery. This species is most common in urban areas and is classified as common in the UK.
