Hello, from Steve Garten and welcome to my weird and wonderful world of moths.

Iā€™m amateur Lepidopterist, I trap and record moth species on my six acre wildlife meadow at Tibenham Norfolk, UK.

The list of moths listed in this Micro-moths blog and the Macro Moths blog are the species I have recorded since 2015.

Double-striped Tabby - Hypsopygia glaucinalis.

Double-striped Tabby - Hypsopygia glaucinalis.

A micro moth species from the family of Pyralidae , subfamily Phycitinae.

The moth has a wingspan of 23 to 30 mm.

A mid-brown coloured moth with two pale lines running across the wings.

Its habitats include sheds, farm buildings, gardens, haystacks, thatched roofs, and bird nests.

This moth can be found on the wing in July and August when it comes to light.

The species' life history is that the larvae feed amongst the thatch, hay, or other kinds of dry vegetable matter, such as birds' nests.

This species is classified as common in the UK.
