Common Yellow Conch or Garden Straw - Agapeta hamana. A micro moth species from the family of Tortricidae , sub family Tortricinae. The moth has a wingspan of 15-24 mm. A yellowish moth with russet-coloured markings on the wings. It is found in many habitats, including grassland, fens, open woodland, heathland, waste places and gardens where foodplant thistle occurs. From June through August. The species' life history is the Larval foodplant Thistle. Flies are mainly at dusk or at night, but it can easily be disturbed during the day. This species is widespread and classified as a common species in the UK.
