The moth has a wingspan of 14 to 16 mm. A distinctive orange-yellow moth. .
A common inhabitant of Damp areas - stream banks and ditches. Especially in areas where the larval foodplant is found.
The moths can be found on the wing and attracted to light, the adults can be found between May and August.
The species' life History is In common with several other Mompha species, the larvae feed on Willowherb, in this case, Great Willowherb, mining the stems and later the leaves.
It is widespread and classified as a common species in the UK.
