Brassy Tortrix - Eulia ministrana.

Brassy Tortrix - Eulia ministrana. A micro moth species from the family of Tortricidae ,sub family Tortricinae. The moth has a wingspan of 18-25 mm. The creamish ground colour and red/brown markings are characteristic. This is mainly a woodland species. A common inhabitant inside houses is often found on indoor walls as it darkens. The moths can be found on the wing. In May and June, from dusk to dark, when light can attract them. Life History the caterpillars feed on a variety of deciduous trees and shrubs and overwinter in this state before pupating in the spring. It is widespread and classified as a common species in the UK.
