Timothy Tortrix - Zelotherses paleana A micro moth species from the family of Tortricidae, subfamily Tortricinae,. The moth has a wingspan of about 18 to 22 mm. A very plain-looking moth usually has a distinct yellowish suffusion around the head and the base of the forewings. This species’ habitat is waste ground and dampish areas. This moth is on the wing from June to August, can be flushed from low vegetation during the day but is more active at night The species’ life history is that the larvae feed on various grasses and herbaceous plants, living within a spun or rolled leaf. It is generally distributed throughout Britain but scarcer in Scotland. it is classified as common.
