Hello, from Steve Garten and welcome to my weird and wonderful world of moths.

I’m amateur Lepidopterist, I trap and record moth species on my six acre wildlife meadow at Tibenham Norfolk, UK.

The list of moths listed in this Micro-moths blog and the Macro Moths blog are the species I have recorded since 2015.

Light Grey Tortrix - Cnephasia incertana.

Light Grey Tortrix - Cnephasia incertana. A micro moth species from the family of Tortricidae , subfamily Tortricinae. The moth has a wingspan of about 14 to 18 mm. One of several similar Cnephasia species but also one of the smallest. This moth is on the wing during June and July. Its preferred habitat is for woodland edges and hedgerows. The species’ life history is that the overwintering larvae feed in a spinning on a range of herbaceous plants such as plantain and sorrel. The species is widespread and classified as common in the UK.
