Hello, from Steve Garten and welcome to my weird and wonderful world of moths.

Iā€™m amateur Lepidopterist, I trap and record moth species on my six acre wildlife meadow at Tibenham Norfolk, UK.

The list of moths listed in this Micro-moths blog and the Macro Moths blog are the species I have recorded since 2015.

Garden Pebble - Evergestis forficalis.

Garden Pebble - Evergestis forficalis. A micro moth species from the family of Crambidae subfamily Glaphyriinae. The moth has a wingspan of 25 to 28 mm. This species has a distinctive resting posture and, when completely at repose, has its wings held in a steep tent-like fashion. Its habitat is gardens and similar habitats throughout Britain. The moth has two generations, flying in May and June, then again from late July to September; the adults are regularly attracted to light. The species' life history is that the larvae like to feed on cultivated Cruciferous plants and can be a pest in gardens and allotments. This species is widespread and classified as a common species in the UK.
