I’m amateur Lepidopterist, I trap and record moth species on my six acre wildlife meadow at Tibenham Norfolk, UK.

Treble-bar - Aplocera plagiata.

Treble-bar - Aplocera plagiata. A macro moth species from the family of Geometridae subfamily Larentiinae. One of our larger Geometrids, it is rather difficult to tell apart from the less common Lesser Treble-bar, which has a more angled inner crossline on the forewing. The abdomen shape should be checked out. The moth has a wingspan of 27-40 mm. The moth as one generation from May to June. And August to September. The moth favours Many habitats. The larva foodplants are St. John’s-wort. The moth is classified nationally as a Common species in the UK.
