Tawny-barred Angle - Macaria liturata.

Tawny-barred Angle - Macaria liturata. A macro moth species from the family of Geometridae subfamily Ennominae. A distinctive species with two main forms. Might possibly be confused with Dusky Peacock but an obvious orange-buff subterminal band is present even in the melanic form. The moth has a wingspan of 22-27 mm. The moth as two generations from May to June, and August to September. The moth's habitat favours Conifer plantations. The larva foodplants are Coniferous trees, especially Scots Pine. The moth is classified nationally as a Common species in the UK.
