Small Rivulet - Perizoma alchemillata.

Small Rivulet - Perizoma alchemillata. A macro moth species from the family of Geometridae sub family Larentiinae . Rather similar in appearance to The Rivulet, it is also generally slightly smaller. it can usually be distinguished by the double indentation on the white band of the forewing which is normally single in The Rivulet. The moth has a wingspan of 14-18 mm. The moth as one generation from June to August. The moth's habitat favours a range of woodland and open areas. The larvae feed mainly inside the seed capsules and on the flowers of Hemp-nettle. The moth is widespread and classified nationally as a Common species of the UK.
