Shoulder Stripe - Earophila badiata. A macro moth species from the family of Geometridae subfamily Larentiinae. An early spring species. It shows a variety of colour forms, but all have the same basic pattern. The moth has a wingspan of 25-30 mm. The moth as one generation from March to April. The moth's habitat favours woodland, scrubland and other open areas. The larva foodplants are Dog-rose and other wild rose. The moth is classified nationally as a Common species of the UK..
