Scarce Umber - Agriopis aurantiaria. A macro moth species from the family of Geometridae subfamily Ennominae. In common with several of its relatives, the female is almost wingless and spends much of its short life climbing up tree trunks. The moth has a wingspan of 27-35 mm. The moth as one generation from October to December. The moth's habitat favours woodland, suburban habitats, and other bushy places. The larva food plants are a range of deciduous trees. The moth is classified nationally as a Common species in the UK.
