Ruby Tiger - Phragmatobia fuliginosa.

Ruby Tiger - Phragmatobia fuliginosa. A macro moth species from the family of Erebidae subfamily Arctiinae. Distinctive species with a reddish-brown ground colour and bright red and black-dotted abdomen. The moth has a wingspan of 30-35 mm. The moth as two generations from April to June and again July to September. The moth's habitat favours downland, heathland, sand dunes, woodland clearings, farmland, and gardens. The larvae are polyphagous and able to feed on various kinds of food. The moth is widespread and classified nationally as a common species of the UK.
