Rosy Footman - Miltochrista miniata. A macro moth species from the family of Erebidae subfamily Arctiinae. A very attractive moth, with orange or pinkish forewings, crossed by a curious black wavy line. The moth has a wingspan of 23 to 27 mm. The moth as one generation from June to August. The moth's habitat favours woodland habitat. The larva foodplants are lichens growing on trees, including Dog Lichen. The moth is classified nationally as a common species in the UK.
