Oak Hook-tip - Watsonalla binaria.

Oak Hook-tip - Watsonalla binaria. A macro moth species from the family of Drepanidae sub family Drepaninae. The 'Hook-tip' moths get their name from the shape of the tips of the forewings and this species is one of the smaller members of the group. The moth has a wingspan of 18-30 mm. The moth as generation from May to June and again July to September. The moth's habitat favours Oak woodland and parkland. The larva foodplants are Oak. The moth is classified nationally as a common species of the UK.
