Iā€™m amateur Lepidopterist, I trap and record moth species on my six acre wildlife meadow at Tibenham Norfolk, UK.

Feathered Gothic - Tholera decimalis.

The moth is from the family of Noctuidae -- subfamily --- Hadeninae.

It Is a medium-sized macro moth, with a wingspan of 32 to 45 mm.

There is one generation, flying from August to September.

The moth's habitat is mainly rough grassland, downland, scrub and woodland.

The species overwinters as an egg, and the eggs are scattered over grassland in flight

The larva appears from March to July.

The species food plant is mainly grasses

Larva feed at night on the leaves of the food plant, and when larger on the plant stems at ground level.

The moth is classified nationally as a Common species of the UK.
