Common Emerald - Hemithea aestivaria

Common Emerald, Hemithea aestivaria.

The moth is from the family of Geometridae, subfamily Geometrinae.

It Is a small-sized macro moth, with a wingspan of 24 to 27 mm.

The moth as one generation and its flight season is from June to July.

The moth's habitats are around woodland and hedgerows.

The larva is much more numerous than the adult moth appears to be.

The Larva appears from June or July to early July,

The species feeds on bushes such as Hawthorn and Blackthorn.

The moth is a common resident of the UK.
