Clay - Mythimna ferrago

The Clay---- Mythimna ferrago. The moth is from the family of Erebidae, subfamily Arctiinae. It Is a medium macro moth, with a wingspan of 35 to 40 mm. The moth s one generation and its flight season is from June to August. The moth's habitat is mainly, open habitats; open woodland, grassland, scrub, heathland and gardens. It overwinters as a small pupa, low down in the vegetation. The lava appears from August to May, feeding at night. The Larva feeds on grasses, especially Cocks-foot and meadow-grasses. The species is classed as a fairly common species throughout the UK.
