Iā€™m amateur Lepidopterist, I trap and record moth species on my six acre wildlife meadow at Tibenham Norfolk, UK.

Burnished Brass - Diachrysia chrysitis.

The moth is from the family of Noctuidae, subfamily Plusiinae.

This is a small to medium-sized macro moth, with a wingspan of 25 to 35 mm.

This spectacular moth species has large areas of metallic coloring on the forewings.

The moth has two generations and its flight season is from June to July and August to September.

It feeds on Clovers, vetches, trefoils, Black Medick, and Lucerne.

It overwinters as a small Larva near the ground among vegetation.

The larvae feed on plants such as nettle, and other herbaceous plants.

It pupates in a loose cocoon formed on the underside of a leaf of the food plant.

The moth's habitat is mainly Inhabits gardens, waste ground, and marshy areas.

The moth is a resident common species of the UK.
