Oak-tree Pug - Eupithecia dodoneata A macro moth species from the family of Noctuidae, sub family Xyleninae. The moth has a wingspan of 9 to 22 mm. Quite a tiny species. The species' preferred habitats are deciduous woodland, hedgerows, and suburban habitats. The moth can be found on the wing from May to June and is most regularly encountered at light. The species' life history is that the larvae feed on Hawthorn and Oak flowers. Fairly widespread in England, Wales, and Ireland. This species is classified as common.
