Hello, from Steve Garten and welcome to my weird and wonderful world of moths.

Iā€™m amateur Lepidopterist, I trap and record moth species on my six acre wildlife meadow at Tibenham Norfolk, UK.

The list of moths listed in this Macro-moths blog and the Micro Moths blog are the species I have recorded since 2015.

Delicate - Mythimna vitellina

Delicate - Mythimna vitellina A macro moth species from the family of Noctuidae , sub family Hadeninae. The moth has a wingspan 36 to 43 mm. The adults vary in colour from very pale yellow to almost orange. Its favours various habitats. The moths are usually found on the wing between August and October, but also sometimes earlier in the season. It is considered that some of the earlier migrants during the year may breed in Britain, giving rise to autumn adults, but the larval stage is not well known due to its nocturnal and retiring nature. UK Status for this species is Common .
