Tree-lichen Beauty - Cryphia algae. A macro moth species from the family of Noctuidae subfamily Bryophilinae. Former migrant species with only three recorded in the UK up until 1991. The moth has a wingspan of 24 to 30 mm. The moth as one generation from July to September. The moth is a migrant that is most likely to be recorded at the light. The larva in southern Europe feeds on lichens growing on trees. The moth is common and widespread and classified nationally as an Immigrant species of the UK.
