Single-dotted Wave - Idaea dimidiate. A macro moth species from the family of Geometridae sub family Sterrhinae . This is a small but rather pretty species. The adult moths can be attracted to light. With a wingspan of 13-18 mm. The moth as one generation flying mainly from June to August. The moth's habitat favours damp locations such as marshy woodland, fens, and riverbanks. The larvae feed from autumn through the winter on Cow Parsley and Burnet Saxifrage. The moth is widespread and Classified nationally as a Common species of the UK.
