Plain Wave - Idaea straminata.

Plain Wave - Idaea straminata. A macro moth species from the family of Geometridae sub family Sterrhinae . Care has to be taken with the identification of this species, as it closely resembles the remutata form of Riband Wave, although the latter has a more angled outer crossline near the wing tip. It as a Forewing size of - 13-15mm. The moth as one generation from June to -August. The main larval foodplant Dandelion, Knotgrass The moth is classified nationally as a Local n species of the UK.
