Plain Golden Y - Autographa jota.

Plain Golden Y - Autographa jota. A macro moth species from the family of Noctuidae subfamily Plusiinae. Lighter, more brick-red appearance than Beautiful Golden Y, with fewer less-distinct metallic markings. The moth has a wingspan of 35-40 mm. The moth as one generation from June to August. The moth's habitat favours gardens, waste ground, and woodland areas. The larvae feed on a range of plants including Nettles. The moth is widespread and classified nationally as a common species of the UK.
