Pale Mottled Willow - Caradrina clavipalpis.

Pale Mottled Willow - Caradrina clavipalpis. A macro moth species from the family of Noctuidae sub family Xyleninae. This moth shows a distinct mottling to the forewing, with several dark dots along the leading edge, and very white hind wings. The moth has a wingspan of 26-35 mm. The moth as two generation from May to July and again August to October. The moth's habitat favours grassland, scrub, open woodland and gardens. The larva live on the grain of various cereal crops, including those that have been harvested. The moth is widespread and classified nationally as a common species of the UK.
