Iā€™m amateur Lepidopterist, I trap and record moth species on my six acre wildlife meadow at Tibenham Norfolk, UK.

Olive - Ipimorpha subtusa.

The Olive - Ipimorpha subtusa.

A macro moth species from the family of Noctuidae sub family Xyleninae.

It as a Pale olive brown forewing which is not hooked, and which has very distinctive patterning.

The moth has a wingspan of 27 to 30 mm.

The moth as one generation from July to September.

The moth's habitat favours woodlands and marshy areas

The caterpillar spins together the leaves of its foodplants, which are Aspen and other poplars.

Overwinters as an egg, comes to light in small numbers, sugar, and honeydew.

The moth is widespread and classified nationally as a common species of the UK.
