Nutmeg - Anarta trifolii A macro moth species from the family of- Noctuidae - sub family - Hadeninae. This moth has a finely variegated patterning of sandy and darker browns and greys. It also has quite a large kidney mark and the half near the trailing edge is always darker than the ground colour. The moth has a wingspan of - 30-35 mm. The moth as two generations from April-June and August – September. The moth's habitat favours Waste ground, agricultural land, heathland, fens, woodland, scrub, grassland, gardens, and a range of other habitats. The Larval foodplants are several different plants and trees. The moth is widespread and classified nationally as a common species of the UK.
