Marbled Minor agg. - Oligia strigilis agg.

Marbled Minor agg. - Oligia strigilis agg. A macro moth species from the family of Noctuidae subfamily Xyleninae. A complex of three species Marbled Minor, Rufous Minor and Tawny Marbled Minor, which can only be reliably separated by dissection of the genitalia. The moth has a wingspan of 22-25 mm. The moth as one generation from May to July. The moth's habitat favours grassland, fens, woodland, heathland, scrub, and gardens. The larvae feed in the roots and stems of several types of grass. The moth is classified nationally as a common species in the UK.
