Dusky-lemon Sallow-Cirrhia gilvago

Dusky-lemon Sallow - Cirrhia gilvago. The moth is from the family of Noctuidae – subfamily ---- Xyleninae. . It Is a medium-sized macro moth, with a wingspan of 32 to 38 mm. As one generation and its flight season are August to October. The moth habitats are mainly broadleaved woodland, hedges, parks and gardens. The species overwinters as an egg, laid on the twig of the food plant. The larva appears from April to early June. Feeds at first inside a flower bud and later more openly. The species of foodplants are mainly Wych Elm. The moth is classified nationally as a Local species of the UK.
