I’m amateur Lepidopterist, I trap and record moth species on my six acre wildlife meadow at Tibenham Norfolk, UK.

Dusky Sallow - Eremobia ochroleuca
From the family of Noctuidae : Subfamily Xyleninae.
With a wingspan 34 to 37 mm. This is a quite distinctively-marked moth.
This is common and easily identified. Comes to light at night, also can be seen by day at rest on flowers or actively feeding in hot weather.
It prefers Grassland, fens, open woodland, scrub, heathland and gardens.
Flies in July and August, when they can be found feeding at various flowers, as well as being attracted to light.
The larvae feed on the flowering stems of various grasses, especially Cock's foot.
It is mainly confined to the southeast of England and East Anglia, with scattered occurrences elsewhere up to Yorkshire. Its UK status is classified as common.
