Iā€™m amateur Lepidopterist, I trap and record moth species on my six acre wildlife meadow at Tibenham Norfolk, UK.

Brindled Pug, Eupithecia abbreviata,

The moth is from the family of Geometridae, sub family Larentiinae.

It Is a small Sized macro moth, with a wingspan of 19 to 22 mm.

The moth has one generation its flight period is from March to May.

The moth's habitat is mainly deciduous woodland,.

The species life Cycle overwinters as a pupa, behind loose bark on its foodplant or in loose earth.

Larval appear from June to July,

feeding on Pedunculate oak and Sessile oak and hawthorns.

The moth is regarded as a common species in much of Britain, except the far north of Scotland.
